Defensive Stoppers?

so alls everyone ever talks about is people who can score. how about the kids who bust there a** on defense and maybe are not the best offensive players, who are the best in livingston county?

most avon people will say kesel but i think housel needs to be up there. He is their best rebounder and did an excellent job on great players such as Owens and Shwartz last year. He should be up there in the list of names

When talking about defense I think you have to look at the whole Avon team. They haven't allowed a team to score more than 43 points in any of their six games and are giving up an average of 38 points a game. Kesel who has been known the best for his defense is obviously lock down. But they also have Banach who leads the team with 2.5 steals a game, and Housel who can guard just about any big and is a very good rebounder. Also on their bench they have 3 or 4 guys who all play very solid defense. I'm happy to see them giving a collective effort every night to get stops on the defensive end and let the offense come from that.

BJ Haskins form york is a good defender. All of avon. Willson from Cal-Mum plays AMAZING off ball defence. Rhyner from Oakfield is all in yer face. That whole team denies the wings great. Shelton from Cal-Mum can rebound well. LeRoy's guards are mad quick and stick on guys.

I don't think I would say he's "still good". He can't keep anybody (really anybody) in front of him but he does rebound pretty well from the guard/small forward position.

Phillips cant keep up with anybody and hes usually guarding the worst player. But the funny thing is that that player never really blows by him or anything. During the Calmum game Voos tried to but Phillips is a tough guy to shoot over and phillips stuffed Wilson when he thought he could take him 1 on 1. This problem will be shown in the BK games when their will be athletic and big guards he has to cover. That is a problem.

The thing about this post is that it is different then like top scorer or defensive stopper. top scorer is a talent, a defensive stopper should be switched to defensive team. Defense isnt an individual thing it is a team. A person can be the best defender but still give up points becuase there isnt help. Kesel is the best matchup gaurd but he gets good help from his teammates as well. avon is the best defensive team out there

attacking phillips on the offensive end is one of the keys to beating avon, and then stopping phillips when on defense is another lol

he is absolutely correct. The thing is the players Phillips guards arent attackers. When Calmum played them voos tried to attack but Phillips has a big big body and its hard to get around him. And ya more then any other player on avon, Phillips needs to be stopped. Hornell stopped Phillips to 4 pts, what happened, they played them to a 4 pt game. Phillips has been in double figures the rest of the year and htye are destroying teams.
