back when cal-mum was class b in 1984 following a 49 game winning streak that was snapped by undefeated batavia notre dame (16-0) back in '81 ..cal-mum played greece olympia back in 1984 and lost only 20-13 but kept it close here is the link http://www.greece.k12.ny.us/oly/sports/football/fb1980prsent.htm also in 1986 cal-mum (then class B) played MARSHALL and won 21-8.. I think this goes to show that they can compete traditionally with the bigger schools take for example the 1997 game vs syracuse cba they were in it all the way ..

The tradition of Cal-Mum football goes back a long time. SectionVDude, my high school football coach in the early 70's was a legendary star for Cal-Mum. Ask around about Tony Merola and you'll find that he was a four or five sport letterman and a terrific football player.

I bet Cal-Mum can compete with schools with a higher classification. Aquinas used to "play up" back in the 70's and 80's.

I have tremendous respect for the Cal Mum football program and the history that they have. The school and community support that Cal-Mum has is unbelievable.I watched Batavia play at their field last year and it is incredible. You can't have facilities like that without the community supporting the program.I bet you have to really look to find another stadium like that in a town that small. The town kind of reminds you of Friday Night Lights where when theres a home game you know everyone in the town is going to be at the stadium. That's pretty special. No wonder the coach has been around so long. Why go anywhere else!
