I think that a tourney would be a great way to raise money for the site. It would also be a great way to gain awareness for the blog and section V sports. I think this would interest a lot of people in the Talks Back community

it's always better to do these things for a charity. You can raise awareness of the site by hosting it, but give the money to Coaches vs Cancer or something like that.

Yea, I guess your right. Afterall, the volunteers moderate this site because they love it...
I agree, it could be a way for Talks Back to contribute to a cause for kids. I think that the mony should stay local though. Coaches vs cancer get national recognition. There is a lot of local charities which could benifit. does Roch have a Ronald Mcdonald house or anything like that?

Sure does. Right around the corner from TurnTwo's dorm. My grandmother spent a lot of time there while my grandfather was treated for his brain aneurysm. My co-worker spent a lot of time there while his twin boys stayed in the NICU at Strong after being born 3.5months early.

Well then lets do it. I have put on a few tourneys if you guys need a hand. I also know a few club pros who might work with us if its for charity.
I can see it in the headlines...The first Annual Talks Back Charity Golf Tourney

ALL FOR IT.... Down here you could do it at Reservoir creek in Naples or Bath CC, both are fantastic courses and usually pretty reasonable for hosting events.

I have an idea.
We could host a scramble at Terry Hills (I know the owner because of many interviews) and he is a very charitable guy. There are three 9-hole courses so if we get a ton of people, we can host them.
We could also get businesses in Section 5 to sponsor holes and donate prizes for winners and door prizes for a dinner after.
I'm thinking it would end up running $50-75 per person for the nine hole event, but we would get a great dinner after the event, raise a ton of money for charity and probably get some television stations out for the event.
If we are going to do this, I would need to get it set up within a month. I can take care of the golf course, but somebody else would have to do all the planning, getting tickets set up to be sold and finding Rochester area businesses. I could cover Genesee County
