batavia won a sectional title last season with like 1 win during the regular season. the team is .500 this year and is well coached. battaglia is also an awesome goalie. will they win another championship this year?

No chance Batavia wins. Aquinas, Irondequoit, and Thomas. That's all I've got to say.

You seem to forget that Batavia is a Class B school for hockey. With that said, I think they are capable of winning the Sectional Championship. Gen/Livonia and Canadaguia are the only 2 teams in my opinion that they will have to go through in order to win it again.
What Batavia has is depth up front, but lack depth on defense. However, Paul Pederson has done a great job by placing Majewski and Finnell back at the point and is able to roll 3 lines consistently, along with 2 D pairings, while throwing in a 3rd every once in a while.

if they don't have a very strong d, it'll be tough to stop both G/L and CA's offenses. obviously they can get strong goaltending from battaglia, but the question is can they outscore these two teams, probably one game after the other because of seeding...

I think they can, but it's going to be tough, no doubt about that. Paul Pederson will have them ready for Sectionals, I can guarantee that. Almost the entire team is back from last year's championship team, which will help in the long run.

Batavia won 2-1, goals by Pokornowski and Sallome. Battaglia played amazing of course, making approx. 35 saves. It was a good game all around, with a lot of good, clean hits. Batavia lost a defensemen, Tilar Clark for the season with a broken wrist, so that may force the issue to have them play Majewski at defense the rest of the way.

They seem to get outshot every game, but Battags keeps them in the game. I Know he did that when he played us...I'm not sure they have enough...time will tell.

It's all about quality, rather than quanity when it comes to shots against Batavia. Too many times this season, teams are shooting the majority of their shots from just inside the blueline and/or top of the slot, with no one in front of Battaglia.
