Webster Thomas. Their very good pitcher is back, and the team has a solid contingent of summer ball players. Irondequoit's team has a handful of very good players. But their pitcher is still working her way back to game shape from last year's injuries, their starting SS transfered to Kearney, so that leaves them with Desirea M, maybe two other bats, and that is it. No other team in that division has more than two strong players, and not in the right combination of positions (such as Pitcher and catcher, etc) to challenge.

look out for desales and honeyoe this year. although i am not sure if honeyoe relly lost anyone, i do know that they are good every year. desales only lost allysa libratore and rose list. look for jenny alden and alyssa's little sister anna to step up and pitch the big games. also look out for sara vistocco at 3rd base she is a great all around player

Class A will be the toughest class by far with new addtion Victor and crosstown rivals Mendon/ Sutherland. Mendon has a strong array of pitchers and a new catcher on the team. Mendon also gainded Sutherlands shortstop Pollot. Making Mendons infield very strong with Reese. Sutherland has only 1 pitcher and Victor lost their pitcher Nargi (rumor has it that Strong will be pitching). Over all Class A will be the games to watch, keep your eyes on Mendon, Victor, and Sutherland. The title is up for grabs!

Victor has been in Class A for a long while. They are new to the Monroe County Division III League, though.

Mercy might surprise a team or two. They have an experienced pitcher. A pitcher can keep and inexperienced team in the game. They did lose a lot of position players to graduation.

In my opinion, I think one of the best softball players is Brittany Smyder from the avon team. She is a good outfielder, and knows how to play other positions. Also she can hit the ball extremely well.
DD bracket will be loaded, as with all the other sports, with good teams. You have BR (even thought they lost an amazing group of girls last year), Keshequa, Arkport, Elba and I'm sure there are others.

i agree a like victor in class A for this year, however if canadagiua switches over to the monroe county league, look for them to take the class A title. CA always has depth in softball.

What does switching over to Monroe County League have to do with the Class A sectionals?
Canadagiua will be part of Monroe county in 2009-2010.

Monroe County DIII, if that. Yes, I have seen their HS team play, yes I have seen their summer team play, yes I have seen their pitcher.

Their classification for 2008-2009 is still AA, which would put them in Division 2. If their enrollment stays the same for the following season, I think they would compete there for sure.

it gets them more experience for when they do go to sectionals

I agee. I think Mercy will be right in there with Victor and the two Pittsfords. Don't underestimate the significance of the coaching change. This is a major upgrade and could be huge. I also believe Mercy has most of their players coming back, though the players they lost were huge. Four or five players will be in there 3rd or 4th varsity seasons, and some of the returnees may blossom in a better environment.

Warsaw should be pretty good even though they lost a few seniors! They still have their amazing pitcher!

Canandaguia is not even listed under the A sectional thread. Mercy and Victor has the most votes.

that Canandaigua does not play A - they are too big. They will be AA or maybe even AAA this year, depending on the classes. Oh, and by the way, they are mediocre at best.
