The Golden Media Award is a certificate to be awarded to any member of the media who has done an outstanding job in covering scholastic and/or collegiate basketball.

A Golden Media award certificate was presented to Chris Metcalf, Sports Editor of the Livingston County News. Chris was nominated by Coach Jim Burke of Prattsburgh HS. Another Golden Media Award certificate was presented to Richard Ross, reporter for The River Reporter. Richard has won this award before and this year was nominated by Coach Rick Ellison of Sullivan West HS.

Chris Metcalf does an outstanding job covering high school sports in the Livingston County area. ( and beyond ) This is a well deserved honor. He provides such notoriety to so many young athletes and recognizes the hard work that goes into developing a successful, high school program. His stories are detailed, well thought out, and always interesting to read.

Other than his predicting Bath to take 3rd in the LCAA in football and 4th in boys soccer, he is generally pretty accurate, as well. ( haahahah )

I dont' think the people giving out this award care about the GR.
