Okay, so I've seen that there are mostly boys being mentioned in the forums and I was wondering if any females, more specfically 800, 1500 or 3000m runners got on this.... if so who do you think will be the best in section v area this season... maybe not the top but some of the best.

Yeah, she went to state for both XC and indoor track as well.

Another name to throw out there is Angela Jarvela from Batavia.

Yeah it was her first Indoor Season. She went to nationals and raced the 5k.

Both of the aforementioned could beat a lot of guys in distance. I'll admit that they could both beat me.

Yeah that Jarvella girl is good.... she and Christine were head to head for a while at sectionals. And I'm sure the driscoll girls won;t disappoint either.... lockwood seemed to have a slower xc season this year... maybe she'll show in track... But if were talking about the same Allison Lockwood I'd hardly consider her "big" even in runner's terms.-
i guess thta Liberatti girl's (from red jacket i think) is pretty good from what i've heard.

What's surprising to me is that this was her first year doing xc if i'm not mistaken, I guess she used to play soccer. If she had started running since she was in like 7th grade imagine where she would be now..... damn other fall sports. I think she's a senoir so we won't see her next year.

Well, that's not actually an oxymoron. Though I do see where you're going with it. I believe oxymoron's have to compare two adjectives; but, you were using the noun "Al" to yield the adj. "small." It makes sense.

Anyhow...
It'll be fun to watch Christine again in outdoor. Looks like shes gotten even better from X-C season. Mindy Sawnor was also looking very good in indoor. She's the number one 800M returner in Section V and one of the best in the state. Looks like a lot of good girls are returning this year. Good luck to all of them!

Oxymorons do not have to be comparing two adjectives. Jumbo shrimp is an oxymoron very similar to "Big Al." Jumbo=adj, shrimp=noun.

Words have multiple meanings. Those meanings use different parts of speech. The meaning you are implying when saying it is an opposite of "jumbo", is small. In the case you use "shrimp" to mean "small" it is an adj.
Seriously though who cares...:p

El Imperator

too bad you are retarded and you don't say adjective adjective when speaking... lest you use a comma.... anyway you don't go adj, adj. in an oxymoron there you go flamer:

Oxymoron is a paradox reduced to two words, usually in an adjective-noun ("eloquent silence") or adverb-adjective ("inertly strong") relationship, and is used for effect, complexity, emphasis, or wit:

www.wcdhs.net/Teachers/Emigh/Literary%20Terms%20Quiz%202.doc

as you can see you posted some idiocy without evidence and therefore fail

Do you want to talk about proper english usage instead?
Thats why this is a dead end.

I still think this is a worthy discussion, if we talk about the distance girls. I put together this list of top returnees. Any predictions on someone breaking into this list or someone falling off? This is a solid group of runners, it will be interesting to see how Mooreland responds to the training @ HFL, how much she improves and moves up the list.

Don't worry, you're not the lone girl! And boys, go bring your english lessons elsewhere.

But i personally know that Angela Jarvella is good. But she has her off days if she's really not into it. Being a former teammate, it happened kind of a lot last year in outdoor. But she's still a beast. Ran a 4:49 1500 in indoor. She broke our school record in I think steeple when she was a freshman. Same with our indoor 1500 record, which she broke again this year with the 4:49. Sorry I don't know anything else about any other girls distance runners. She was the only one we really had and I was a jumper/hurdler so I didn't really pay attention to distance:rolleyes:
