CLASS AA: Chris Indovina of Webster Thomas

Robbie Brown was an excellent QB and all around athlete for Webster Thomas. It sounds like Coach Deuschle was able to reload with Chris Indovina. Gee thanks Coach! :) The Saints get to play Webster Thomas on September 20. After last years game where the Saints won it 25-23 on a last second 30 field goal by Matt Szczupakowski (http://ccsaintsfootball.com/ThomasVideo11.mpg), I know the Titans will be after some payback! We have some great football rivalries in Section V!

I think Andre McCloud should certainly be given at least an honarable mention for his efforts last Saturday vs. Canisteo. He had 7 carries for 126yds and 2 touchdowns and then both a kickoff return and punt return both for Touchdowns and a total of 135yds on special teams. Which are great statistics for a whole game, let alone he did all this in the first half. He certainly deserves the accolades for that performance in my opinion.

How does Averin Collier not get Offensive player of the week in AA?? All due respect to the Marshall kid...but Collier had 300 something and 3 TD's on only 13 carries!...is it because he got it last week?

I thought the idea was to "spread the wealth" alittle...otherwise the same kids would get it week after week.

Who does the voting for the Section V players of the week?

UNCTarheels
09-27-2007, 07:57 AM
Each league has a League Rep the coaches in that league give their picks to the Rep and the rep gives them to Section V. At least that's how it works in Basketball & Baseball and I'm 95% sure that's how it's done for Football too.

Has a Bath or Hornell player received the award yet this year?

UNCTarheels

Zapata did get the award for Week 4 so that ruins my theory but who knows I'm pretty sure the award both teams & players would like is the Section V title and awards that come along with it.

Some sports also make it where you can't win it twice in the same season - so that is yet another possibility

Jonathan Roberts of Rush-Henrietta and Wayne Washington of Eastridge both have 2 this year. And I'm pretty sure out of Zapata, Collier, and Jackson, one or more of them had more than one last year.

I'm not sure how it's decided. Don't get me wrong, I'm very, very happy for Neal Dotterer (for obvious reasons) but I am kind of surprised about Zapata not getting it because my son Nick got it when he broke the Career Receiving Record in week 2.
