tennis tennis tennis. i am enrolled in the tennis class for phys ed. i realize just how talented you have to be to hit a ball over a net, and then on top of that, IN BETWEEN LINES. it has heightened my respect for THE roger federer, :D , hereafter refered to as "the rog". As I was roaming espn.com i came across the tennis page. I am so extatic to hear that Roger "The Rog" Federer is matched up against Radek Stepanek in the opening match of the Davis Cup Championship. "The Rog" is 3-1 against Stepanek the Czech Republican icon. LET'S GO ROG!!!!!!!!!! And i must say that i am excited for the upcoming match up between Andy Roddick and Joachim Johansson who has been sidelined with a shoulder injury, do you guys feel that this will give Roddick an advantage in the match???? Johansson is 1-1 against Roddick and upset "The And" in the quarterfinals of the US Open! I will close my post saying I lover you all, i love "The Rog" and i love "The And".
God Bless America:)

Womens tennis is more fun for me to watch because there is a much more open field. With the men, Roger will win alomst every event. He is a machine. Sure Nadal, and Djokovich might challenge him but that's about it. He has won something like the last 10 against Roddick.
With women there's Henin, Sharapova, both Williams sisters, Kuznetsova, Chacvetadze, Mauresmo, and many more capable of winning.

I must confess, I love tennis.
I played at Oakfield-Alabama in the mid 90s and we won a league title. I was first singles on jayvee and first doubles on varsity.
I think Conors should play, he might like it.
As for pro tennis, the men are no fun to watch. The women are great. I'm a Hutchnova fan.

I wouldn't say anti-tennis. just doesn't have the feel for that particular game.

This is one of my favorite threads.
We should start a poll. It might have to be multi-part.
1. Should Conors72 play tennis?
2. Would Conors72 be any good at tennis?

I know conors very well and no he shouldn't play tennis haha. He wouldn't be any good because he is too big of a man haha. Even too big for the "big man at the net."

womens tennis is more fun because maria sharapova wears a skirt. case closed.

I'm sure women's tennis would still be better even if Roger wore a skirt. Maybe he'll wear one in his match against you if he's not too chicken to show!

I must admit, I was outraged to see that you feel it would be attractive to see Roger Federer in a skirt. I can only imagine what it would look like with his hairy legs. Judging by the long hair he has on his head he would look like big foot in a skirt.

but he's not as good as his cousin, casey call..
call has been on varsity tennis for oa for 4 years. has gone deep in sectionals every year, and has won with riner as his doubles partner in his freshman year. together, riner and call have lead their team to 2nd place in the gr last year.
call is also a very good cross country runner and a key basketball starter to go along w/ being a tennis all-star
riner is an all-star football player and another key basketball starter. he is also an all-star i believe

are you kidding me....when riner wants to play he can play. he took his freshmen year off because he was bored off the non competitive league and because his coach was a tool....call plays year round all the time....if riner wanted it there would be no competition....and when riner was in focus cause he was tired of hearin of whelan all the time he smoked him at the sectional qualifiers 10-2

It's true. I payed with both of them this summer and when brad wants to play, he is really good, possibly better than casey. But he has a temper and if you get to him it can go either way. His shots are a lot harder than casey's, but Casey puts more thought into his shots.

Riner also had a warm up match and i didn't because I was the higher seed. That kid makes you nervous on the court. If we ever played a regular season match it would be closer seeing as I beat Casey at sectionals 10-4

rumor has it call and riner are playin doubles for sectionals so it looks like whelan has it in the bag. but riner and call might make it farther it could get ugly for teams around here haha... if riner works hard and focuses and call works to get more consistant could be a fun doubles team to watch

I'm pretty sure Elba would be in the mix. I put Schwartzmeyer in the same class as Bostwick from Oakfield and I think this year either team could compete in that class.
I think softball might be the strongest sport in the GR, with Elba, Oakfield and Pembroke all having great teams almost every year.

Yeah i definetley think that Elba could hang with some of the bigger schools like OA and Pembroke in softball, and it would make for alot better competition... But I saw in another thread that the mound was being moved back to 43 ft. for the 09 season. How do you think that will affect the pitchers and the outcome of the game?
