Did anyone go to this game? How does a team like Thomas blow a 4-0 lead? I know that Thomas and Athena tied on Tuesday, but Churchville comming back from a 4-0 deficit against a team like Thomas? I see they are ranked in the top 20 of the country, how many other top 20 teams in the country have blowen 4-0 leads this year? I hope someone can give some details on this one!

I was just looking at that game scoreline on: http://www.sectionvsoccer.org/Game_Summary_Display.asp?GameID=2559
That is crazy! Thomas had their last goal in the 44th minute, (IF the site is right) and C-C did all their scoring in the second half.
I'll tell you what though, I honestly believe there is more than one team in this area that could be a top 25 team. I think that's part of what makes the Monroe County League and Section V soccer so great is the complete level of competitivness. To win Section V AA you have to be a fantastic team and beat numerous other very good teams.

Wow. Thats just crazy. How can a team that good, just collapse like that? I guess it was a Liverpool/AC Milan Champions League final all over again...

i was surprised by that as well. But I can see Thomas getting very complacent, particularly with a 4-0 lead. They seem to turn it on and off when they please (they can with the talent they have), but 4 goals is pretty big to let up. I will say that Thomas is beatable though, they are susceptible in the back and goalkeeping isn't the greatest.

You are right a 4-0 lead in the second half no less. I agree there are good teams that turn it on and off like that. But you are right 4 goals for a team like that is unheard of. So what will the long range effects of this be? I know Chuchville has been good the past few years but I thought if anyone would score on them it would be Athena. Congrats to Churchville for not packing it in, I know I would have!
