O-A dominated the second half last night and any questions about who the top dogs in the league are were answered. Thank God for the radio because I'm sick as a dog right now, so I didn't get to watch. But I listened and it seems like Oakfield and Pembroke next week will determine the league title.
Great win for the Hornets and those kids. I still think Attica is one of the top teams, but O-A might be one of those special teams.
Great game, great win.
This is one of the most fun seasons ever. GR football is awesome.

Attica's solid defense couldn't decipher that odd Eastridge/OA offense. I've never seen that offense run in college or the pros. Where did these two teams get that tight style of offense?

The double-wing offense is tuff to stop when you have linemen that are as good as OA's..They have traditionally been strong up front and quick on their feet. There is also the "smoking mirrors" factor where many people lose the ball because they hide it so well..The OA coaches do a great job coaching that style of offense to the athletes they have..To beat it, you have to have patience, you cannot overreact, and oh yeah you have to be just as big as they are upfront..You cannot allow them to get rolling because you can only get beat by a stick so many times before it starts hurting..I'm sure Attica will bounce back....Congrats to OA on a big GR win....Boy that Pembroke/OA game should be a barn burner,,wish I could go.

That offense is as old as football. Its been very successful at the high school level all over the US especially out west, all the California rushing records are held by backs and teams from that offense. Its sort of like a bizarro spread, it can attack you from all angles using the run, just like the spread can attack you all over the field using the pass. Another fun part of it is that it conditions players to hit the opponent rather than sit back and absorb the blows of the Defense(like the spread does), everybody is a real football player, Wide Receivers need not apply and Quarterbacks better be ready to be a lead blocker! Often its an equalizer offense, O-A might be bigger than their opponents but Eastridge rarely is and they still have great success with the double wing. College doesn't use it because the pros don't use it so recruits who want to go to the pros wouldn't go to a college that uses that type of offense. It would probably have some success at the Div. III level of college but it takes guts for a coaching staff to implement it, when Eastridge first used it many so called fans had their doubts about it, but the Lancers and Hornets have never been more successful than these past few years that they have utilized the Double Wing.
