Is anyone out there predicting any big upsets in GR football?

To early to predct that game. I was going to go with OA but now with A.J. and Athoe gone I need to see how OA does against other teams. Same with Pembroke. People are saying that they're like a jv team this year.

I think that could happen it does sound pretty realistic but with Pembroke playing oa for homecoming that will definitely be a GREAT game

good point haha, ND is clearly the favorite and if anyone else won GR then it would be an upset, if Attica or Pembroke, or even OA won it i'm sure it would surprise some people

How about Attica. I think their better than OA and Pembroke.

I think Attica vs. OA, and Attica vs. Pembroke will be very good close games, however something tells me that Oa and Pembroke will be able to squeak out wins. But an Attica win in either of the games wouldn't be a big surprise.

This has the chance to be a very crazy year in the GR i absolutely have ND as a favorite but the amount of talent lost by other teams is going to bring the competitive nature of the GR that more fierce. I had a chance to see a couple of the scrimmages this year and I have to say that both ND and OA look solid against cal-mum and the other teams. Barker also looked competitive running the Jet sweep series at their own facilities. Although I don't believe they are champion material they might give some teams a hard time, especially if they have trouble guarding the edge. They just don't have they drive blockers to make teams respect the inside running game. Holley also looked solid at their scrimmage against Newark, ER, and BK though they did look shaky on defense especially against the pass their offense was clicking scoring about every fifth play. They scored around 3 touchdowns on each team they faced and looked solid. I have not been able to get any information or film on the other GR teams but I do believe that both Alexander and Attica will be good with the quality of players they have returning, EBB is going to be interesting because they have talent but it's hard to gauge with a JV coach coming up and a rather blah season that did end strong. However I do believe this is going to be an exciting year in the GR none the less.

the lights and field should be all set by that time dependin on the future weather..it sounds like everything is on schedule tho

Thats good, because Saturday homecoming games suck. All of the anticipation and emotion that build during school on Friday gets completely sapped by sleeping. Playing under the lights 4 hours after everyone is exposed to the hype is the most exhilaration thing a high schooler can experience. Heck, just watching that kind of game is always memorable. The Saturday just kills all of that.

Thats good, because Saturday homecoming games suck. All of the anticipation and emotion that build during school on Friday gets completely sapped by sleeping. Playing under the lights 4 hours after everyone is exposed to the hype is the most exhilaration thing a high schooler can experience. Heck, just watching that kind of game is always memorable. The Saturday just kills all of that.


i agree, i mean we never had lights and our homecoming games were always on saturdays and they were fun and there was a lot of school spirit but it wasn't anything like last year when we had the rented lights, i remember we had more people there than i think i've ever seen at a game it truely was a great moment, even better was we won a close and thrilling game
