Field Hockey: Schroeder v. Gates-Chili

First day of field hockey for the 2009 season and it was another defeat for GC. I was trying to analyze how long it would take before Gates field hockey improves and I'm still not sure of the answer. I noticed a lot of the varsity girls returned from last year but still no real improvement shown. Gates did not have one scoring chance and crossed the midfield very few times. Schroeder controlled the play all game and won 7-0. Heres to wishing for a GC goal this year and a win in the future. Check out the pics by clicking the photo...

I would really like to see G-C win a game this year. Their best shot last year was against Brighton, and they didn't manage to pull it off... I really don't know who they might be able to beat this year, but it's gotta happen sometime.

It shouldn't be too many years before they are a little more competitive. Webster Thomas's varsity field hockey program is only 8 years old and they were really not good for their first few years. I don't think they went THIS long without a win, but they definitely were down at the bottom of the heap for a little while there.
