Notre Dame now has a pair of shutout wins over Pembroke and a pretty solid Attica squad.
Last night they had three interceptions and a pair of fumble recoveries and the defensive line was doing a great job of putting pressure on Attica every time they tried to throw.
Attica was able to rush the ball better than Pembroke the week before, but still couldn't get in the end zone.
It is going to be tough to beat this team. Any thoughts?

The kids played well enough to win this one. They were just out coached. Which has become the norm lately. You don,t kick extra points or field goals in a game if you can't make them in practice. Other then some poor tackling in the secondary, the kids played pretty well, and should have won this one.

Very, Very Good. Rapone, Richter, Schofield man handle offensive lines up front . Easily the best set of LB's in GR this year with McDonald, Marchese, Pratt and Corona and solid DB's led by Zambito and McCulley. Where is the weakness? Great team speed and big time hitters all over the d.

I dont think anyone in the GR is beating ND this year.

Especially after they beat Attica. Holley will be their biggest challenge.

ND beat Attica pretty good...Attica beat Alexander pretty good...
that doesn't always indicate how a game will turn out but I would place a decent sum of money on ND in that contest

But they both beat Pembroke 21-0. Same opponent is usually a better indicator, especially in somewhat close games, than team A beat team B who beat team C comparisons.

Agreed that same opponent is a good indicator. They both have played Pembroke and they both have played Attica - you can count the Pembroke games and not the ones v Attica. Yes they both beat Pembroke by the same score - but v Attica Alexander got beat rather soundly and surrendered a ton of points while ND handled Attica fairly easily in a shutout.

I agree. They just talk about the Pembroke games but not the Attica games.

A 12 point loss is rather soundly? A 14 point win is handling someone? Two score games aren't blowouts. Alwaysrunning didn't mention the Pembroke game, so I did because they won by the same score in games that weren't blowouts. I didn't minimize anything, I only pointed out the other common opponent both teams played. He had already mentioned the Attica comparison, so I didn't see the need to. If you're going to compare teams and say one is better based on their schedules, look at the whole schedule.
Alexander scored more points against Attica than ND did, does that mean Alexanders offense is better?

I'm counting both games, that was my point. Alwaysrunning said that these type of comparisons aren't always that good, I was saying comparing common opponents is a better way than comparing teams that haven't played any common opponents.
As far as the games, a 14-0 doesn't look like an easy win. A 12 point loss doesn't look like a sound beating. Maybe the scores aren't indicative of the games.
You also forgot to mention that Alexander scored more points against Attica than ND did, does that make their offense better?

They also gave up over 30! Attica could play ND 7 times and not total 30 points so what does that say about the Alex. D? Wasn't at either Alexander game so I can't comment but anyone that was at either ND game would tell you regardless of score ND was in total control for all 8 qtrs. I'm sure Alexander has a good team and will have a nice season - they wont meet on the field though so we'll never know for sure - but you would have a hard time finding anyone outside the Alexander zip code that thinks they could beat ND head to head.

What happend to ND this past weekend vs OA? I thought ND would crush OA this week.

Got to give OA some credit. This team is coming together and starting to click under their new coach. They played a very solid game and executed their plays. This is a different team then last year, the one that everyone is comparing this years to. They are starting to gel as a unit and believe in themselves.
As far as ND defense, #'s 76 and 64 controlled the inside running game but OA was able to make some nice runs and cuts on the outside.

That could be dangerous for the rest of the teams in DD. Maybe they could provide a first round upset.

#76 is Rapone who is beast inside & #64 is Corona pound for pound very tough. Cam mcDonald was also solid on d as always #62. You are right the outside run hurt them but not having Marchese at OLinebacker was a big factor - he is very good.

Agreed. I picked OA to beat Holley in week 2, but I didnt let my ego run wild and make stupid bets about the game. The people that decided to be idiots should have to follow up on their promises.
