Saw the Nazareth and Bishop Kearney game last night in which Naz won a 1-0 decision. Naz held most of the play in the BK end with some nice short passing and some great crosses. Naz was unlucky not to score several more goals. BK was very dangerous when they got forward and the Naz defense looked a bit suspect. BK nearly went up 1-0 late in the 1st when they had a shot ring off the near post and sit in the middle of the box before it was cleared by a Nazareth defender.
Naz has a trio of excellent players up top, #6, #7, and #14. All 3 are very good with the ball and have excellent shots. #6 was taking the defense apart and had some great looks that she couldn't bury in the 1st half. Their outside mids did a great job of getting service into the box.
BK was in trouble most of the game and the ball was in their end. When they did get forward they were quick and dangerous. I was very impressed with their goalie, she made some great saves on point blank shots to keep Naz off the board.
