The two Steuben County League powers matched up last night, and I'm shocked by the final score. These two teams have had some classic battles the last few years. Arkport apparently dominated last night. Did anybody go to this game? Anybody know what's going on with J-T? is Megan Wyant injured? or is Arkport just really, really good? Just curious as I've yet to make a game and was just reading the score online and it blew me away.............

I'm right with you UNC. I was shocked by that 6-0 final score. It was 1-0 at the half, but Arkport just started putting up goals in the second. I was not there so I do not know how it played out or if anyone was injured. Arkport is very good and will be one of the favorites to go to states again this year. J-T is good, but sometimes you have a bad game. We'll see how they rebound. But Arkport is a better team overall with more talent, you'd just never expect a game to be that lopsided against J-T, especially in J-T. J-T will be ok, they won't let that game phase I would hope. Move on, next game, season continues. J-T will be a contender come sectionals I'm sure. I'd say say Arkport and GV are the best right now, with A-A, J-T, Elba, W-C, and maybe a few others in the next mix of teams that could possibly pull an upset and make a run.

and B-R of course, they are also a solid team.

I'm not surprised that Arkport won, as they are the best team in the SCL, in my opinion. I am surprised that it was 6-0, but I think that score is more of an anomaly than anything else. From the way I heard it, the game was close at the half (1-0), then Arkport got a couple of quick goals early in the second half and the roof fell in on JT after that. That's the way it goes sometimes when a really good team like Arkport gets the momentum going in their favor, they are tough to stop, no matter how good their opponent is. Chalk it up as a learning experience for JT; they are a good team that will rebound from this loss and will be fine. As far as Arkport is concerned, I wouldn't be surprised to see them as the favorite to win the DD sectionals again come tournament time. They are definitely that good, without a doubt.

Arkport sure looked impressive. JT did not put out there best effort, that is for sure. Lets hope JT uses this loss to get better and not chalk it up as just a bad game. They seem to be in a bit of a slump, been a long time since I have seen a JT team girls or boys without a dominating defense. Lets hope the slide stops against Addison, the girls need a quality win to get them going again.

its been a couple of years since JT has had a very good defense. Look at 2006, I think that was the last time JT had one great defense.
