HFL will be pretty strong with solid pitching with Dunn, Abbott, Dahle and Dickinson. They are strong up the middle with two sophomore middle infielders. Outfield may be a question but is built with a lot of speed in center that can run any ball down. Also a Canisius bound catcher that will lead HFL to being a legitimate contender that many people will over look due to not knowing much about HFL's players. Look for HFL to turn a lot of heads this year much like they are doing in basketball

Sutherland is always good but this year will be a little down for their standards. Their pitching I believe will be their weak point with Salivia being really the only dominate pitcher on their staff.

AQ is good as always need to say no more.

Victor is a very offensive team that will score runs but odds are will give up a lot of runs as well. They lack the big time pitcher that they have had over the past sectional runs. Look for them to blow out weaker teams but struggle against those with a strong lineup.

I see HFL and AQ battling it out for the title when the season winds down

It is a four horse race in Class A...

Aquinas, Sutherland, HFL and Victor in that order.

Aquinas are the favorites because they have a very good 1-2 combo in pitching. Lemen and Kelly are tough. Bostick, Dennis, Welling are very good offensively but after that it is a huge drop off. They graduated their entire OF, the older Bostick and their C and 1B. One thing HFLCatch10...AQ hasn't always been good. They won last year for the first time in a long time.

Sutherland will be tough because they have a deep pitching staff but they could run into the problem because they don't have that true #1 like Lemen. They ran into a tough Lemen in the final and lost last year. One of the Barra brothers or Salvia will be their choices to throw the big games. When they won four straight Class A titles they had a clear stud #1. On paper their offense is good but who knows with that.

HFL has some talent and a potential dominant #1 in Dunn and a good #2 in Dahle. I am not sure about their offense after Cuykendall. They have a bunch of questions marks in the OF and in the IF. Abbott has a ton of potential offensively and on the mound.

Victor has virtually their entire lineup returning but they don't have a dominant #1. HFLCatch summed it up well that they will be the weaker teams but will struggle against the dominant teams.

I see Aquinas vs. Sutherland Part III in the final. But you never know. Eastridge was one bad break away from knocking off Aquinas in the semis last year in 12 innings. Anything can happen.

With all the controversy and coaching issues they have had lately, I don't see this as the year they finally start pulling things together.
if you think they will only win when wood and soja pitch...then how can you not look at them for sectionals...two strong pitchers are all a team really needs along with a relief pitcher which dupra could easily be come that time...predict a 500 season with a sectional semi final possibly final berth..win it all? maybe...thats just the excitment of this league every year...you never know

In class A, I still see it coming down to Sutherland and AQ. Sutherland, in my opinion, has the better overall team. That being said Lemen is the best pitcher in the class and Kelly is not a bad #2. Coaching edge goes to Sutherland. Cappalupo is a maniac, but in a good way (if you like to win).

HFL will be above average as they will beat up on the lower level teams like Brighton, but will struggle against the top two or three. Batavia doesn't get much play on here, but are building a strong program. The move up to MC will expose HFL's hitting. No more 75 mph fastballs to tee off on, at least against the good teams. I'm not sold on a middle infield of sophomores until they prove it on the field.

Oh yeah, and Victor will be around HFL's level....good but not great. You can't expect to be great without solid pitching. Smart teams will pitch around Roeder.

In AA, I look for Canandaigua to win sectionals because of their pitching, but I also am expecting big things from Spencerport. They will be the surprise team this year and are also my pick to win MC DII (west), slightly edging out Gates Chili who will also be improved.

Thomas and Athena lost too much (Belluco's left?), the rest of this class is down.

In AAA, I see Penfield repeating.....too many returning starters vs. what others lost.
Schroder will still be tough if Armbruster is healthy, they still have Bingo, Dimartino, and they gained experience last year. Gates will be improved and dangerous. Churchville lost too much, Eich can't do it all himself. RH lost a ton as well and never seemed to get over the hump when they were stacked. Hilton will not be able to overcome the loss of Coleman and Black. Fairport will improve on a dismal 2009, but it won't be enough.

I hope Webster does do well this year, however they lost a few of their really strong pitchers. Gavin Guarrera, Mike Paratore, Dave Foos, & Chris Doyle all graduated last year. Gavin, Mike, and Dave now play college ball. I do wish them the best though.

I feel like Canandaigua and Penfield will take their respective Sectional Titles. I do feel like Spencerport is finally getting recognition though, they have some depth and they have pitching this year. They have Creamer, both Romans, Daka, Baker, Miller etc...not a dominating team but they are in the race I think. Roman tore his ACL so he wont be playing SS this year, probably his brother. Their weak spot is behind the plate with the loss of Ollies and on the mound with the loss of Carley. The program is definitly changing though.
