The Patriots Win, Should it count?

19-0. The Patriots want the term 19-0 to be trademarked; in fact they already have trademarked it. The rest of the football community insists that there be an asterisk.
On the dawn of the greatest stage in all of sports, besides the FIFA World Cup for the rest of the world, the New England Patriots are attempting the be the second team in the history of the National Football League to finish their season undefeated, without a single loss or blemish. The only team ever to do so is the 1972 Dolphins, with their blue collar, working class players, where the highest paid player, Larry czonka, made $60,000 a year. The coaching staff featured six, 6!, coaches. Now, the Patriots are attempting to take the "only" title away from the '72 Dolphins, and replace it with "first." It is still quite an honor to be first, but ask any of the '72 Dolphins, or any Dolphin fans, and they will vehemently insist that the Patriots have an asterisk next to the term 19-0.
It seems that so many football purists will ask for an asterisk, but NFL commissioner Roger Goodell refuses to believe that any further punishment be dealt down to the Patriots, as a 750,000 dollar fine and a first round draft pick was taken away from the organization. So the question we must ask ourselves is, "Is the "unprecedented" punishment dealt down by the league one which is strong, and firm enough, to not only ward off future teams from doing so, but also punish the Patriots enough as to show them that they were wrong in doing so." In the NCAA, if a school is accused of cheating, they may have punishments which include, stripping them of their past titles, and not allowing the school into post season play for the next few years. That is an extremely harsh punishment which may be dealt down to a school which may so much have talked to a sophomore prospect. The stripping of titles and banning from post season play is a punishment which is definitely strong enough to ward off schools from directly violating NCAA policies.
The Patriots were caught breaking a rule which directly violated Roger Goodell’s warning, not to video tape other team's sidelines. Banning the Patriots from post season play would be devastating to the organization, costing them a home game (most likely), and the popularity which comes from the playoffs. Also, the removal of a first round draft pick, from a team which has two picks, including one in the top 10, and is already loaded with talent. Now there is talk about spy gate occurring during the Patriot's first Super Bowl, where the Patriots filmed the Ram's walkthrough. Ram's quarterback Kurt Warner insists that the Patriots be investigated, yet crucial Patriots film employees have yet to be questioned. So, now that the Patriots are hours away from accomplishing the second perfect season in league history, we are all posed with the question, if the Patriots win, should it count?

Giants

I'm hoping the Giants win so we won't have to ask that question.

Game

I hope this Super Bowl gets cancelled. I'm really not looking forward to this game. Why does pre-game start at 11a? What's the point of 7 hours of talking about Spygate?

They have to interview the people who will be interviewing the interviewers of the champions later. To use the words of a fellow poster. I hope the Giants poop in Brady's icecream!!!

Very nicely written. Only problem I had is the name is Kurt Warner, not Curt. If the Pats win should it count? Yes, they still won the Super Bowl. Should there be an asterisk next to 19-0, probably. The Patriots cheated, in week one. They still went on to win every other regular season game, and postseason games. Therefore they still would have been the #1 seed, and they made the SuperBowl. So if they win it should count, however I have no problem with 19-0*
