Section 6 Football Info
Some guys over in Section 6 were talking about what a pathetic web site we have. Nothing like this in Section 6. Would anyone mind if football fans from section 6 started some threads over here. It might help everyone keep up on teams from both sections. The Buffalo News prep blog is about as good as we get.

2008 Section VI Classifications
AA
teams and divisions stay intact NORTH (Niagara Falls, Kenmore West, Niagara Wheatfield, North Tonawanda, Lockport, Williamsville North) and SOUTH (Frontier, Orchard Park, Clarence, Lancaster, Jamestown, West Seneca West)
A
lost 4 teams to B, 6 team divisions...NORTH (Grand Island, Starpoint, Sweet Home, Kenmore East, Williamsville East, Williamsville South), SOUTH ( Iroquois, Hamburg, Lake Shore, Cheektowaga, Amherst, West Seneca East)
B
gain of 4 teams (Albion, Lew-Port, Maryvale, Pioneer), lost 1 team (Southwestern), Lackawanna moves from North to South... NORTH (Alden, Depew, Medina, Newfane, Tonawanda, Albion, Lewiston-Porter, Maryvale), and SOUTH (East Aurora, Springville, Fredonia, Eden, Dunkirk, Olean, Pioneer, Lackawanna)
North looks stacked with 3 '07 A teams that were competitive (Albion, Lew-Port, Maryvale) to join Depew and Medina. South loses SW, but gains Lackawanna back to battle EA and Fredonia
C
Looks like there will be 2 divisions this year with addition of Southwestern...NORTH (JFK, Cleveland Hill, Gowanda, Wilson, Akron, Royalton-Hartland, and South (Southwestern, Silver Creek, Cassadaga Valley, Westfield, Allegheny-Limestone, Salamanca, Falconer)
D
looks like D/DD stays intact...D (larger schools) (Maple Grove, Catt/Little Valley, Randolph, Portville, Chautauqua Lake, Franklinville, Frewsburg, Pine Valley), and DD (smaller schools) (Clymer, Hinsdale, Panama, Forestville, Sherman, West Valley, Brocton, Ellicottville)

Section VI Pre-Season Large School Poll
Compliments M. Latimer
1. Orchard Park...within a game of the State Title has big nucleus return Connolly Cup Tundo, Hoppy, Nuessle, Gurtler, Selby. Another undefeated run through AA possible. Loss of some key linemen (Bloom) must be addressed.
2. St Francis...tandem of All-WNY Fabor and Tasker should rule Martin again. Tough to kick OP off its perch, but Aquinas win and good showing vs Ohio might sway some voters. Must be wary of a slip vs Canisius
3. Sweet Home...Class A looks bunched at the top. Solid core of offense returns in QB Kacz, WR Morris, Reese, and Nwanchukwu. Must replace running game of Marcus Johnson and line play of Nick Christman.
4. Cheektowaga...Could have another Stadium run with nice core of Jaleel Harris, Nick McLean, Clay Reeb, and Pat Eck. Double Wing offense is key with right QB, and loss of Piscitello could hurt. Their top ranked defense will miss Jake Havernick and Dante Parker.
5. North Tonawanda...NT started slow last year before coming back strong. I expect the trio of Davis, Zellner, and Bunker to lead the way in AA North. Can't slip vs Ken West or Lockport.
6. Iroquois...perennial playoff team has All-WNY RB Brandon Murie. Teams that key on Murie will get burned by speedster Matt Corigliano. Sr leadership will come from Billy Desiderio and Boomer Brock. Chiefs lost some top players in All-WNYers Tommy Lewis and Mooch Jesonowski, and WR Paul Evans and will need some underclassmen to step up. Power running game with speed should get them through A South until Cheektowaga game.
7. Frontier...Falcons have been coming on in recent years and I see them as being OPs toughest foe in AA South. QB Cory Tyger was co-Player of the Year for offense with OPs Tundo. Close games have dogged them recently as Lancaster, Clarence, and WSW are always tough.
8. Canisius...Breakout '07 returns offensive weapons in QB Sean Brady and WR Anthony Fulham. Must build on last year and replace RB Volk to give St Francis a run.
9. Lancaster...nice core in Sean McLeod, Cory Davis, Brandon Potyok, and Kevin Kieliszek return. AA South is a war to get through.
10. Grand Island...nice core in Alex Neutz, Joe Oliverio, and Ed Weiser should give Vikings a chance. Loss of Albion and Lew-Port in division helps as well. Must replace the toughness of Christian Nestark and Alex Webb.
Honorable Mention:
Lockport...RB David Fluellen and QB Justin Guyton could keep them in games.
McKinley...lost some key talent of their unbeaten streak team, but still the top dog to catch in Harvard Cup

Section VI Pre-Season Small Scholl Poll
1. Albion…went up to A for 2 years and finished 2nd and 3rd in North behind Sweet Home and Grand Island. Although they lose some Srs like lineman David Skrip and QB Justin Ward , this program is too good to slip too much.
2. Depew…I like what this program has been doing the last couple years…but was ’07 a great Sr class in Bayerl, Dudkowski, Strychalski, Osika? Dan Gorski and Joe Christiano provide some answers, but lots of holes to fill.
3. Cleveland Hill…Of all the small schools, probably the most likely to win their division. Rhakeem Wiggins and Peter Westbrooks are back to speed by competition. Curtis Hairston leads their defense again. Week 1 vs Maryvale will decide how far up in the Poll they could go.
4. East Aurora…nice to have All-WNY QB Scott Drosendahl back, but main target Shane Biggs will be gone. Depew double-teamed Biggs and EA still came within a foot of winning the B Title. Must find answers for losing Art Garvey and Dan Dechert. Ryan Sweet gives special teams a boost with his leg. Solid program.
5. Southwestern…solid program receives a boost by moving down into C. Replacing RB Tyler Scott will be big on their to-do list. No reason why they won’t be C South Champs.
6. Maryvale…Back in B, where they went to Section Finals in ’06. Top runner in Brooks Estrafaa might shine. Andre Davis will help the cause.
7. Maple Grove…must replace Tom Secky …oh wait, they have another Secky!!!
8. O’Hara…how do you replace co-News players of the year in Reggie Garner and Jackie Feggans??? Shaquille Dudley and Angelo Sciandra, and DJ Nettles provide a nice core…but there has to be a drop off from a fantastic ’07.
9. Randolph…replacing Blake Morrison will be big shoes to fill, but this program always seems to find the one.
10. Cassadaga Valley…could be my surprise team for ’08. Return Division all-stars in OL Andrew Pingitore and RB BJ Monacelli. Add QB Brian Barmore, and 6’4” Jake Lancaster and there’s a good nucleus. Lost in OT to Falconer. A win in week 3 at Southwestern could put this team in “destiny” mode.
Honorable Mentions:
Lew-Port…Return RB Alex Penders and QB Matt Cattarin
Clymer…RB Tyler Schwab could lead one of the smallest schools on a run in the playoffs
St Mary’s…Kelso and Barczak look to topple O’Hara. Beat Cleve Hill last year!
Falconer…can’t count them out, but lost a big Sr class
Fredonia…had a great defense last year, but must replace RB Brady Raynor
Medina…WR Nick Peterson returns, but B North just got tougher
Lackawanna…move to B South helps, Capone Smith just doesn’t carry this team like past Steeler stars, they need more weapons

I like Albion, Depew and EA this year. Not sure what order but these 3 jump out at me.
